Due to popular demand, here is another chance to learn printmaking and photography skills.

These sessions are organised by CoExist and are suitable for beginners.

INTRODUCTION TO CYANOTYPES AND DRYPOINT

Cyanotype – An old photographic procedure which typically admits a cyan-blue colour. The English scientist and astronomer Sir John Herschel discovered this procedure in 1842. A chemical solution is used to coat a paper which is then exposed to sunlight with shapes or objects placed on top of it.

Drypoint - a technique of intaglio engraving in which a hard steel needle is used to incise lines in a metal, usually copper plate, with the rough burr at the sides of the incised lines often retained to produce a velvety black tone in the print.

Come and try your hand at one or both – £20 on the door for the whole day or £10 for the afternoon session only.
