The Wave Comedy Festival at the new venue at the end of the Pier presents Terry Alderton, The Joker Club, Chris Mayo, Eric Lampaert, Hils Barker, Quirkish, Los Desperados as well as fantastic comedy workshops.

Programme:
The Joker Comedy Club – Thursday 19th July – 8pm – Southend’s esteemed long-running comedy club The Joker kicks off the proceedings with a night of top acts from Britain’s illustrious comedy circuit. Acts TBC.

The Wave Charity Night – Friday 20th July – 8pm – Flying in from his round-the-world tour of brilliance, Southend’s very own Terry Alderton (Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Dave’s One Night Stand, Sports Relief’s Let’s Dance, The Sun’s Top Comedian 2011) returns home with his award-winning tour show.  Charity Night & Champagne Reception.
Saturday 21st July – 1-4pm - Youth Comedy Workshop – Quirkish: Improvised Comedy £6

Saturday 21st July – 6pm – The South-East’s premier improvisation group, featuring top comedy performers Sarah Mayhew and John Oakes (both appeared in Russell Kane’s One Night Stand for Dave channel). “A rod of comic light that charges up and beams all over me” – Russell Kane

Saturday 21st July – 7:30pm - Los Desperados - The new kids on the comedy block wrap things up with an hour of anarchic sketches and impish improvisation.

Saturday 21st July – 9pm - Three Funny People – £7 - Stand-Up from the circuit’s best.

Sunday 22nd July – 2pm-5pm - Sketch writing workshop and presentation + Comedy Writing Showcase 8pm – Come along and devise & perform your own material with some cracking comedy writers & performers, including Sadie Hasler (Russell Howard’s Good News/Al Murray’s MPD), Sarah Mayhew (Quirkish), & John Oakes (Quirkish). Workshop runs from 2-5pm, with a performance of the work at 8pm (to give performers time to rehearse!) 5-8pm is an optional ‘hang out, eat sarnies & rehearse’ time for participators!  Workshop – £10 / Performance for non-participators – £3
