Sloth Hart are playing at the Preview Club tomorrow as their big reunion after 30 years.

Free entry plus a host of other acts

Sloth Hart first played at the ‘Old Ship Folk Club’ that David Anton ran back in the 80′s prior to starting Preview.

After Sloth Hart split many years ago, Andy Deeley, Graham Wing and Graham West have been in various cover bands (apart and together at different times). Graham Wing and Graham West are performing regularly now with ‘Julie Jive and the Bigshots’ in pubs and clubs in and around Southend. Andy is currently playing with ‘Timewarp’.

Will Thompson-Ambrose who started the band finished with the folk scene and left music all together and only picked up a guitar 2 years ago (a sort of 25 year gap!!) At present he is writing new material and has played in Graham West’s folk outfit the ‘Ranters’. He’s hoping to record the new material in his 24 track studio (The Museum). Since coming back to music, he has made solo and group appearances at Ealing Folk Club, Uxbridge Folk, The Ickenham Folk Festival and the Max Planx Centre.

Lois Maulkin, lead vocals has been in various bands over the years, including Warp, Scratton Road and The Isinglass Affair, which she is still in Graham West, vocalist and sax player has recently returned to his folk rock roots, now paying accordion, mandolin, sax, guitar and keyboards and currently writing a Folk Rock Opera. This will be performed by the new band The Ranters. It’s based on a gruesome true story from the 17th century about a girl unjustly hanged and sent for dissection. This will hopefully become a concept album to tell the story as a kind
of ‘Folk Rock Opera’.

As Will and Graham and the other Sloth members were very keen to have a Sloth Hart reunion, it seemed a great opportunity to pool their existing resources and create ‘The Ranters’ to perform and eventually record the new material

The evening will be split into two sets the 1st being the ‘Ranters’ and the 2nd The Sloth Hart reunion.
