Steven Walker’s new work is inspired by iconic modern Olympic moments.Steven, a graduate of the Princes Drawing School has been inspired to create 10 drawings and 10 paintings based on iconic Olympic imagery.

IDEA13: What interests you on the Olympic theme?

Steven Walker: I am really interested in the human endeavor and the human spirit of the olympics. We can question the sponsorship and politics but ultimatley I/we relate positively to watching an athlete attempt to perform to their potential on the one day they have spent 4 years working towards.

IDEA13: What was the most inspiring moment for you?

My most inspiring moment was probably Seb Coe in the 1500m race in Los Angeles in 84 where he beat 2 of his rivals and shut his critics up. He ran gracefully. He was defiant in his belief he could win after being ill for months and I liked his celebration at the end when he pointed straight up to the press box to say he was number 1.

The show is on until this weekend: Saturday 11 am – 5 pm and Sunday 12 -4 pm
