Paul Despy – a pukka dj, owner of Carmel Records down London road. A mixture of Northern Soul, SKA, Garage, Pop, Punk, Psychedelia and more..

Saturday:
Live SKA band – Toot ‘n’ Skamen. Seven piece MADNESS, SPECIALS, BAD MANNERS, THE SELECTER tribute band from Kent. Playing live upstairs. £5 entry/ starts at 8pm

Sunday:
Martin McNeil Band with Hammond Organist -Martin Johnston, Wes Weston (Harmonica), Martin McNeill (guitar, vocals), Marc Cecil (drums), Tim Husskinson (Piano). At 4:30pm.

+ Rick Dawson pianist – a selection of jazz, blues, pop tunes and brilliant classics.

& Boogalator- An adrenaline-fuelled, funk, soul, jazz, Hammond Organ trio band. With ex members of The James Taylor Quartet. Driven by Hammond Organ! 7.30pm

+ Cinema Club – a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1948 thriller- ROPE!. Based on Patrick Hamilton’s 1929 play. On a late afternoon, two brilliant young aesthetes, Brandon Shaw (Dall) and Phillip Morgan (Granger), murder a former classmate, David Kentley (Dick Hogan), in their apartment. They commit the crime as an intellectual exercise: they want to prove their superiority by committing the “perfect murder”.

The Railway Hotel’s Sunday film club brings you a 1960’s classic – Rosemary’s Baby.

First you can browse through the wares at the NOW, VOYAGER Craft Fair at the Railway on Sunday between 12-5pm and stay for the film which will start at 7.30pm.

Roman Polanski’s 1968 film with Mia Farrow tells a story of a young couple who move into a new apartment and find themselves to be surrounded by peculiar neighbors and occurrences. When the wife becomes mysteriously pregnant, paranoia over the safety of her unborn child begins controlling her life.

V FOR VENDETTA will be showed at The Railway Hotel this Sunday at 9pm.

Directed by James McTeigue in 2006 and set against the futuristic landscape of totalitarian Britain, V For Vendetta tells the story of a mild-mannered young woman named Evey (NATALIE PORTMAN) who is rescued from a life-and-death situation by a masked man (HUGO WEAVING) known only as “V.” Incomparably charismatic and ferociously skilled in the art of combat and deception, V ignites a revolution when he urges his fellow citizens to rise up against tyranny and oppression. As Evey uncovers the truth about V’s mysterious background, she also discovers the truth about herself – and emerges as his unlikely ally in the culmination of his plan to bring freedom and justice back to a society fraught with cruelty and corruption.

SUNDAY FILM CLUB:

On Sunday at 8pm, IDIOTS will be screened upstairs. A 1998 Danish film directed by Lars von Trier, it was his first film made in compliance with the Dogme ‘95 Manifesto.
A group of young people decide to react to society’s cult of an aimless, non-creative and non-responsible form of intelligence by living together in a community of “idiots”. Their main activity becomes going out into the world of “normal” people and pretending to be mentally retarded.
