This year’s Leigh Art Trail coincided with Leigh Folk Festival. On the last Saturday of the Trail, the Broadway was buzzing with people walking in and out of the music festival at the Leigh Gardens and walking around the venues, until the heavy rain stopped everyone for a while.
Leigh Art Trail starts tomorrow and runs until Saturday 18th June. 52 local artists are showing in 47 venues in Leigh.

Leigh Vintage and Craft fair is at the Leigh Community Centre on Elm Road, from 10-4pm tomorrow.
The nine-day event (12-20 June 2010) showcases the work of forty-six contemporary local and national artists across over twenty Leigh-on-Sea venues not normally associated with art exhibitions.

The offices of Storm media agency were packed last Friday for the charitable auction organised by the Leigh Art Trail which included items ranging from paintings, photographs, pottery to theatre tickets and hamper of booze… In addition to the auction, the Leigh Art Trail also held a secret postcard sale, where a £5 ticket would get you one of the postcards made by different artists.
The atmosphere was great, but as it turned out, only a handful of people were up for bidding despite some of the paintings going for the price of their frame. At the end, the successful bidders left with some real bargains, still – the Leigh Art Trail did raise some cash for the charity!
