Southend YMCA is holding its 3rd indoor flea market at the YMCA ETC Shop on Southchurch Road.

There will be everything from fashion and jewellery to hand made cards and collectables, local designers, vintage goods, menswear and bric-a brac.

The Cup Cakes Cafe will be open all day serving delicious paninis and pastries with speciality coffees and hot chocolates.

Southend YMCA is holding a photography competition open for 16 to 25 year olds.

Entrants must submit a black and white, food-related image.

RULES:

- Competition ends June 10th 2010
- One photograph per entrant

Whilst you can submit your entry as a smaller image, a HIGH RESOLUTION version MUST be available as the winners will have their photos enlarged and displayed at the new MyPlace restaurant.

Fancy dress and mad hats welcome at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party this Saturday at YMCA etc.

The YMCA ETC’s Alice in Wonderland inspired party is for both children and adults. There will be tea and party of course, but also lots of free arts & crafts activities, including mask-making, face-painting, card-making and a colouring competition (the winners will get a pair of tickets to see the forthcoming Alice in Wonderland performance at the Palace Theatre).

Meet Alice, Queen of Hearts, The Mad Hatter, The Catepillar and other characters.

YMCA’s Mad Hatter’s Tea Party for children is just around the corner and they are looking for help! They need arty and drama types to get involved and help decorate the shop and be ‘in character’ for the Mad Tatter’s Tea Party event on March 20th.

What is needed:

- Making things like giant playing cards made, Alice in Wonderland characters and people to with the tea party help on the day! All expenses will be covered and it’ll be a lot of fun.

MEETING FOR PLANNING EVENT is tomorrow 2PM Wednesday 3 March – if you are between 16-25 years and are interested in helping out with artwork, shop dressing and acting, come along to this meeting tomorrow at the shop :
