The return of The Alien Psychedelic Experience - an occasional sighting of the legendary North London club night hosted by psych-DJ ALIEN playing PSYCHEDELIA, BEAT, GARAGE, KRAUTROCK, TROPICALIA and STONER ROCK from across the ages.
This edition of The return of THE A.P.E at The Railway Hotel this friday at 9pm will also include the the first Southend performance by Camden band, The Hyenas (MYSPACE PAGE) and a special guest DJ – Mikey Soul. Mikey Soul is best know for his inclination for the Northern tunes, but here he will bring some garage sounds of Thee Milkshakes and The Prisoners.
Expect a night of:
- The 13th Floor Elevators, Beefheart, Seeds, Stooges, VU, MC5, Blue Cheer, Standells, Hombres, Amboy Dukes and other classics and hidden gems from the 60’s US garage scene
- Classic mod and beat tunes including: the Birds, Beat Merchants, John’s Children, Pretty Things, The Buzz, Stones.
- Digging Tropicalia and funky psyche from Dutronc, Os Mutantes, Marsha Hunt, Funkadelic.
- Krautrock freakouts from Can, Embryo, Neu, Suicude, Popul Vuh, Amon Duul, German Oak
- 60’s sounds from 80’s bands – Spacemen 3, Loop, Thee Hypnotics, Fury Things, Dinosaur
